The design/layout of the room and bathroom wasn't well thought out i.e. the tv could have been on a different wall in the bedroom so there wasn't the potential to bang your head passing it, the towel rail could have been on another wall in the bathroom giving you more space when using the toilet, and the toilet seat was broken and hadn't been repaired.

The staff were very friendly and were able to decipher my appalling schoolboy french, the location was perfect right at the centre of town, there was a music festival during our stay and the weather was fantastic
The decor was in need of attention, carpetting shabby and old, some of the furniture was falling apart. The chairs on the balcony were rock hard and could benefit from cushions/replacement. Air conditioning would be a definite plus in summer because there was no air in the room as the windows are so small. You get what you pay for and this was the cheapest hotel I could find but we were laughing at how poor it was and amongst the worst we have stayed in, I always search for the cheapest option and with Portalet I certainly found it, at least I only paid 60 euros per night and not the 90 euros the tarriff on the wall quoted!

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Located right in the old town center. Easy to access public transportation. Great way to explore Hyeres and the islands. We stayed a third night after arriving and only planning on two.

Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. Good price (60 euros per night for double room). Reasonably comfortable bed. Shower that worked well. Good hairdryer.
No cupboard or drawers of any kind in the room!!! Had to scratch in suitcase - very inconvenient. One tiny shelf. Only three hangers on the hanging rail. No shower curtain - water went on floor. Very hot spotlights over mirror - got very hot doing hair, make-up, shaving. Fluorescent light would be better.

Right in the center of the old town area. Value for money is really good.
No wardrobes or hangers in the room. Be aware that there's no elevator in the hotel.

it's so central and easy to get around from the hotel! =D
there was construction at the back of the hotel, waking me up around 7am.

Location, too much noise at night from diners and drinkers outside hotel, and in morning from garbage collection, between 4 and 5 in morning! And restaurants and bars clearing up outside tables and chairs left from night before. Very difficult to sleep. Nb. To be fair we chose location in historic centre without knowing how noisy it would be at night and early in morning.

Location was excellent...secure.parking not so far away at maximum 9.50 euros per day Patricia, at reception a bonus for this Hotel. Wi fi available and functioned pretty well. Room 19, on the 3rd floor a definite bonus if you don't mind a hike up the stairs...great terrace overlooking part of the old town. Our price included breakfast which was a good deal Overall a great place to say and we would stay here again
No ventilation (air con or fan) at all...even on request. We nearly succumbed to buying a fan! Note there is no lift in this hotel....this is to be expected in an old building. (Louis at reception helped with our bags on request)
